Nick is almost too realistic about this shit for someone who is funny.

Foursquare, a Social Network Site, Puts Users Face to Face - NYTimes.com

Loopt has a million users, BrightKite probably has its own healthy following, and Google Latitude has a gigantic platform to launch anything that probably netted it tens of thousands of users. And all of the above have gotten loads of press. FourSquare is cooler and better made than all of them, and I hope and expect that it hits a million users next year, but “attracted more attention” is fiction.

Other companies, like BrightKite, Loopt and Google Latitude, are also offering services aimed at helping friends find each other on the go. But Foursquare has attracted more attention than the others, in part because it incorporates elements of gaming and social competition.
