Ordeals are inferior to modern trial methods because modern defendants don’t believe in iudicium Dei, not because trial by jury is inherently superior. The South Korean Supreme Court made a ruling stating that online games’ virtual currency, or “cyber money”, can legally be exchanged for real world currency. The ruling also stated that transactions using this “cyber money” will be taxable.
Facebook has a recommendation engine which is eerily good at predicting who I’ll be interested in hooking up with. It tends to spot people who I’ve decided deliberately not to befriend. Annoying, but proves the point that this is one thing that algorithms do better than humans.
