A BMW 520 carrying Finance Minister Suchart Jaovisidha was immobilized following an operating system crash on the onboard computer, reported the Bangkok Post. The minister was later rescued by his security guards, who used a sledgehammer to smash a window. Microsoft Corporation, the maker of Windows CE, the robust and stable operating system used in the car, has reacted by offering to patch the security hole in the minister’s car with duct tape. “We understand the minister’s concern about his safety and security” said a spokesperson for the Seattle based company “which is why we are offering to patch the hole in the windows”. “As a responsible organization, we cannot afford to ignore a serious problem like this, or work around it”, he added later.
